The Presidential Delivery Unit hosts the Digital Economy Roundtable The Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) recently hosted the Digital Economy Roundtable, a strategic engagement aimed at Connecting Zambia’s Digital Future. The initiative brought together government officials, private sector leaders, and digital stakeholders to discuss practical strategies for expanding digital access, enhancing literacy, and enabling meaningful participation in the digital economy. Guided by the PDU’s vision to ensure 80% of Zambians have digital access and literacy, and to empower 20% to actively participate in the digital economy by 2030, the roundtable highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and inclusive growth in building a digitally empowered nation. Safer Campuses Campaign with UNESCO
UNESCO in Safer Campuses Campaign In September 2024, Brand-Line Africa successfully managed a UNESCO event at the University of Zambia (UNZA), Lusaka, as part of the UNESCO Safer Campuses campaign. The initiative focused on addressing gender-based violence (GBV) on campuses and promoting the safety and well-being of both male and female students. Students from across the UNZA campus attended the event, engaging with speakers who highlighted the challenges of GBV and shared practical strategies to prevent further incidents among the student population. The discussions encouraged students to reflect on their roles in creating safer campus environments and emphasized the importance of community participation in tackling GBV. As part of the broader campaign, students were also informed about ongoing initiatives, such as campus radio programs and peer influencer dialogues, which provide platforms for open conversation and crowdsourcing solutions to GBV-related issues. The President’s Charity Golf Tournament
The President’s Charity Golf Tournament Lusaka — The President’s Charity Golf Tournament took place on 5th November 2023 at the State House Golf Course, successfully bringing together corporate partners, golfers, and community leaders for a noble cause. The annual tournament aimed to mobilize resources to assist minority groups in society, including women, youth, and children—segments often most vulnerable to poverty and social disparities, despite the important roles they play within their communities. While government initiatives such as the Social Cash Transfer and Food Security Packs provide essential support, the tournament demonstrated how private-sector collaboration can complement these efforts, helping to distribute resources more effectively and promote equitable development. All funds raised during the event were directed to selected charities and development initiatives chosen by President Hakainde Hichilema, reflecting his ongoing commitment to empowering all Zambians. The President has consistently emphasized the goal of improving livelihoods and creating a united, prosperous, and equitable nation. The tournament also supported the growth of golf in Zambia, particularly benefiting the junior Golf team, with participants drawn from sponsoring partners. This year’s edition featured 40 teams, each comprising four players, and offered an environment for friendly competition, networking, and collaboration. Organizers praised the strong participation from the business community and corporate institutions, underlining the importance of collective effort in advancing national development. Zambia National Youth Indaba
The Zambia National Youth Indaba Scores of youths from across the country on 15th March 2024 gathered at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka to take part in the 2024 National Youth Indaba. The National Youth Indaba, a platform created to enable youths to interact with policy makers and implementors as well as to harness the views of the youth, attracted more than 2,500 who were addressed by H.E President Hakainde Hichilema. During the event, the youth were given a platform among other activities to interact in a question-and-answer session with Republican President Hakainde Hichilema and his delegation. President Hichilema highlighted Government’s commitment towards addressing matters concerning the welfare of the youth including entrepreneurship, employment, education, health and empowerment schemes. The President also used the opportunity to challenge the youth to be innovative, creative and productive. Mr. Hichilema advised the youths not to waste time on non-productive activities adding that one can only build their future while in their prime time. Meanwhile, Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Hon. Elvis Nkandu, acknowledged the Republican President’s passion and commitment towards ensuring that the youth are at the centre of national development by creating time for them at platforms such as the National Youth Indaba. Mr. Nkandu said his Ministry has made great strides in actualising submissions which were made at previous Youth Indaba’s, such as the formation of the National Youth Policy. UNESCO and Brand-Line Africa Unite to Strengthen Community Foundations
Brand-Line Africa Builds Strong Foundations with UNESCO Brand-Line Africa partnered with UNESCO in the building strong foundations initiative, signaling the importance of helping every child build foundations early on for a healthier, safer and more informed transition into adolosence and adulthood. Brand-Line Africa proudly hosted an event in partnership with UNESCO and UNICEF. Under the banner of building strong foundations, UNESCO and UNICEF co-published four technical briefs that provide evidence based guidance to help children in primary school thrive through foundational education for health and well – being. This initiative, launched in 2024, has set in motion a lasting impact on future generations in Zambia. By nurturung educated children, it aims to strengthen the country’s future and improve the livelihoods of Zambians nationwide.
