On Saturday, September 26, 2024, Copper Rose Zambia successfully held its “Sports for Sobriety” fundraising Sports Day at Sunset Stadium. The event aimed to raise awareness and support for sobriety initiatives, while also addressing mental health issues affecting Zambian youth.
The Sports Day featured football and netball matches, mental health talks led by local experts such as Daniel Mbazimba of Sanity House and representatives from the Drug Enforcement Commission, alongside entertainment from DJ Hussein.
Attendees received guidance on managing trauma, stress, and peer pressure, along with access to mental health resources and referrals to appropriate care centres.
Brand-Line Africa provided professional event management services, including communication, venue and seating setup, guest list management, and branding, ensuring the day ran smoothly.
Beyond the Sports Day, Copper Rose Zambia reinforced its commitment to youth support through partnerships with organizations like Great North Road Academy, SHARPZ, and local rehabilitation centres, aiming to connect young people to safe, rehabilitative spaces.
Funds raised from the event were directed to the rehabilitation centres and mental health organizations involved, supporting ongoing programs for sobriety and mental wellness in Zambia.
